WSN 2025
Research Symposium
The purpose of the WSN Research Symposium is to bring together leading researchers and clinicians to share and review the latest evidence-based practices in the assessment and treatment of stuttering. The symposium fosters collaboration, encourages critical discussion, and promotes the translation of research into clinical practice.​ The format includes a series of expert presentations, discussions, and interactive Q&A sessions designed to engage attendees and deepen understanding of current stuttering research. This event is eligible for ASHA Continuing Education Units (CEUs), supporting professional development for speech-language pathologists.

COURSE COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS
To ensure credit, professionals interested in obtaining ASHA CEUs must:

complete the "Research Symposium Registration Form,"

attend the symposium for all sessions (monitored by the WSN CE committee; no partial credit given),

complete the SLP Quiz (informal learning assessment consisting of 2 short answer questions) and the Program Evaluation by May 10, 2026 4pm EDT.

"Can I send private messages during the conference?"
ABSOLUTELY! Sometimes the best part of conferences is catching up with people you have not seen for a while. Chat boxes will be turned off during presentations, but on during Q & A periods and in between speakers.
"Will there be rooms available to chat with others if I am not interested in attending a presentation?"
YES! Lounge Rooms are always available for the entirety of the conference. Go to empty Breakout Rooms at anytime to catch up with friends, further discuss a topic, or get to know someone. I stuttered profoundly as a young boy. Could not say my name, my school name, my street - blocks were terrible. Therapy changed the nature, but not severity. Around age ten I found a technique and used it privately. It worked for me. I became a radio newsreader and DJ - a performer. Later I was a TV weatherman, and a narrator of six books on Audible. I've hosted a podcast for 16 years. I still stutter - sometimes. But I found "relief" in speaking performatively. The microphone doesn't judge you.

Refund Policy
Registered parties will receive a full refund should the continuing education event be canceled.
Registered parties will receive a full refund if they cancel their registration at least 24 hours prior to CE event start time. If a registrant cancels less than 24-hours prior to the start of the Research Symposium, no refund will be issued.

Refunds will be issued within 30 days via check mailed through USPS.
Accommodation Requests

If you need accommodations for this online event, there is a space on the registration form to describe your needs. Please provide at least 14 days notice; the CE Director will make every effort to address and meet the necessary accommodations.

Complaint Policy
WSN is fully committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based continuing education opportunities to speech-language pathologists (SLPs). If you are not fully satisfied with the content, format or quality of WSN programming, please provide written feedback regarding your concerns. The Director of Continuing Education will assess concerns and pass them along to the speaker to assure your confidentiality. The Director will also mediate the grievance and pose as the final arbitrator.
If the participant requests action, the Director will make every effort to either:
1) provide credit for a subsequent workshop or event or
2) provide a partial or full refund.

Participants have 7 days to make a complaint via email.
